This genius artist, chameleon singer and actor, has been touching us deeply, so deeply, for so long… With all heart and soul… artfully, passionately… And, even without noticing or being aware of that, we let ourselves go, we kind of fly with his fantastic, seductive smile, with his voice, his movements, his body and sex-appeal… Well… thankfully that as a teenager I didn’t use to cry out loud for such beauties nor grab my hair!…
All the good work deserves being valued while people are alive, although David has had plenty of awesome and rather breath-taking feedbacks from his audience, too. I can imagine that it be a dream for me to stand right in front of him and shout out loud: “Bravo! Thank youou!!!”See?! I’m a teenager now!
He belongs to those sort of artists who, although dealing with creative work every day, is constantly surprisingly the audience (in concerts) and his fans. David’s thematic are concerned with life, love, feelings in general, but also with up-to-date issues and problems. He has come along with brilliant ideas throughout his long career (oh, boy! He released his first album in 1969, the year I was born in!), not only on stage, giving high importance to the show itself, but has used creativity in song-writing, in composing and never sold himself to “commercial” stuff”. Instead of that he has tried to survive to changes, to update himself and his style remained almost untouchable. Naturally some years to rest and to rebuild the image have been crucial ( I’d have done that, too), but there he is always full of energy and life and satisfaction to give a concert here and there… for this and that reason… even also with friends to celebrate his 50th birthday in 1997.
Anyway… he’s one of the best singers, songwriters and composers we have all over the world. He’s far too complete. A great performer, a brilliant dancer, a singer whose words, voice and melody come deep down from the soul. He gives himself intensely to his songs, a sort of performances, and in him there’s always this rather profound mixture between a singer and an actor. Both of them brilliant.
I picked up this song for being one of my favourites. I love this video, as well, and his performance on it. I must confess I love his hair this way, too. (I love stylish men who wear the hair like this…)

Song text
Absolute Beginners

“Absolute Beginners” was the theme tune to the film of the same name (an adaptation of the book Absolute Beginners), composed and performed by David Bowie.
I’ve nothing much to offer
There’s nothing much to take
I’m an absolute beginner
But I’m absolutely sane
As long as we’re together
The rest can go to hell
I absolutely love you
But we’re absolute beginners
With eyes completely open
But nervous all the same
Could fly over mountains
Just like the films
There’s no reason
To feel all the hard times
To lay down the hard lines
It’s absolutely true
Nothing much could happen
Nothing we can’t shake
Oh, we’re absolute beginners
With nothing much at stake
As long as you’re still smiling
There’s nothing more I need
I absolutely love you
But we’re absolute beginners
But if my love is your love
We’re certain to succeed
If our love song
Could fly over mountains
Could sail over heartaches
Just like the films
If there’s reason
To feel all the hard times
To lay down the hard lines
It’s absolutely true
